Replace Timing Belt, Water Pump, VVT Hub, Camshaft seals
Hi Guys -
My 2001 petrol S40 is still running fine with only $142k miles But - it is leaking oil on the timing belt side from maybe the VVT hub or the Cam shaft seals. I think I am going to pay the specialist at the dealer to replace the following: ** Timing Belt, tensioner, Idler ** Water Pump ** VVT Hub, --> does this car have a pulley also or just the Hub ? ** Cam shaft seals on the timing belt side ** Serpentine Belt While he has this all open - What else do I need ? Many thanks in advance for your help. T in Carolina

Hey Pierre -
re: cam seal on the far side of engine Is the the rear side as below ? I read your EXCELLENT post on replacing everything I am talking about - great instructions and pics. Have to admit it was way over my head. Last year I did replace the cam seal on the driver's side (USA, facing the front of the car on the right side. I think this is the "rear" side) Thanks for responding, Tom

Also - is it necessary to replace the Camshaft Pulley - on the right in the picture ?

I agree. Just replaced some seals on my S60 and went with Corteco. Identically in look, feel, and robustness. 1/3 of price. Haven't used INA seals but have used for pulleys - top notch.
