After seeing a recent program about how thieves are easily taking cars with keyless entry systems, I'd leave it defective!

The keyless system is rubbish on these platform cars,

They cause nothing but problems and at 100quid a door handle it gets expensive to fix

I appreciate this is an old thread but I was searching for a fix and this can apparently be solved at home fairly easily, here's instructions by another forum member but have to say I'm a bit stumped at parts of it, not being an amateur mechanic:

Thanks for sharing the link, I got as far as undoing the Torx screw 4 turns and pulling the plastic bit off, being a right-hand drive the lock barrel is on the passenger side so I'm guessing I should follow rear door procedure. I have a V60.

I couldn't proceed any further because i couldn't work out how to get the handle past the plastic which was left after removing the blanking plastic. I then preceded to try and do the rear door consequently dropping the Torx Bit inside the door so I now need to buy a long T25 torx driver .

Maybe V60 is different ? I'll be back.

Ok I found this video on YouTube and all becomes clear now, obvious undoing the connector is not what we need with our cars but shows how to get the handle uncliped.

Thanks for the video link, hopefully that should help - removing the handle looks quite straightforward. Let me know how you get on with yours, I might have a crack at this

I managed to get handles off and clean the contacts, it was very easy actually once you get the gist of how to do it, one pin was very heavily corroded, I removed the green corrosion and sprayed with contact cleaner.

Unfortunately didn't work for me, I tried rear passenger door as well no success I'm afraid. Well its back to using the key fob now

Incidentally boot and left side passenger work keylessly.
