Default cheap tyres for an 850T5R

i used to use Federal's, but some i had put on in Febuary 2008 have already started to crack. so any ideas on some cheap tyres, they dont have to last long on the tread side of things as i only do about 1-2000kmiles a year, but the rubber has to last whilst its laid up.

Why would you put cheap tyres on a performance car? It is the only contact between your car and the road. My Yokohama parada spec 2's would be ideal for the amount of mileage you do a year as they are ultra grippy and last up to 6000 miles ish. They are on offer locally to me, not sure about where you are?

I ask myself the same question!

OP: you have put cheap tyres on your car and they are toast already! get some decent ones on there! Toyo, Yokohama etc

Not sure what size you're running but for 70 squids a corner for the Toyos isn't too bad. With the milage you're doing you'll get a good three years out of them. Plenty of other options here too.

Anyone else running the T1-Rs on an 850? It would be interesting to know how they're performing...

Define cheap? Toyo is cheap in the big scheme of things.

I bought some Falken FK452 based on reviews by several car forums and they turned out to be the biggest waste of money - lasted 2.5k miles and went off so badly in the last 3mm of tread they were nigh on dangerous in the wet!!

I fitted 2 Federal tyres to the front, really as a temporary measure as I'm moving house and therefore skint, a bit more road noise but better than the Falkens and seem to be quite hard wearing. Certainly I'll go back to Toyo or BF Goodrich when the time comes but don't diss until you try.

Saying that, stay clear of Wanli, Nankang, Ling Long, Kenda, Enduro etc.
