Until you need to claim - then the small print comes out...

I have found our XC to be many times more relaible than my last couple of cars....

04 Merc ML270CDI Tiptronic - Will NEVER buy a Merc again

02 Galaxy Tdi 115 Auto Ghia x - Not buying another Fraud either....

Enough said?

Hmm, in 12 months... MErc had:

5 new injectors, one at a time - poor design and leaking £1700+

1 new Alternator - Seized - 4 weeks delivery from Germany £1400 exchange

New PAS pump £350

Thermostat £70

5 abs sensors - again one at a time - £900

2 yaw sensors £400

2 sets front discs & pads £400

Not bad for a year.....

I make that £5220 or just over £100 a week on repairs!

sounds great, many thanks. I'm seeing an XC90 tomorrow, never know I may be an owner before the weekend!

If you want to swap car disaster stories; (in chronological order over past 5 years)
V70 T5 1999MY - no problems
Disco II - head gasket at 30k miles, new air suspension a month after
Another Disco II - new auto gearbox at 40k miles and usually in the garage once a month for something
Shogun - new auto gearbox at 60k miles
Navara - within 20k miles needed new sat nav, power windows, rear diff, rear half shafts, rear bearings, 4wd electronics, rain sensor, paint issues, leather fell off drivers seat, new seat belt and the best one the rear bed came loose!

I think i'm ready for a volvo again!!
