Also lots of dealers are doing £300 deposit £300 per month on D2 R Designs in White or Red very tempting, it's a stunning looking car.
I'm desperately trying to dissuade the wife from splashing out as I love our XC70.
Watch this space I'm not very persuasive:-)

I prefer the looks and the seats, went with Lux to get the SE bits but mostly its for the looks (the non-R's look great I just preferred the R's plus there is some heavy discounting on the R range).

I often wonder why:-

1. The R Designs of all versions are higher in price than say an SE, yet lack a lot of the kit?
2. Why the offers are mainly on the R Designs?

We got a HUGE discount on an S60 R Design, so much so that one would have had to be an idiot NOT to buy it! Half price first year servicing and a great deal on some winter tyres - plus also a great P/X on a 59 plate S40 to boot!

Regards

We've just ordered an R-Design D2 in Rebel Blue with winter pack, spare wheel, cruise control and rear park assist with 5 years servicing. They had one in stock so we're picking it up next Saturday.

We didn't ask for the cruise control or the rear park assist but they did a deal for us.

This will replace our C30 1.6 DrivE to take advantage of the extra space and 4 doors.

Nice. You must put up some pics.

Btw, I'll think you'll find that a "normal" cruise control is standard :-)

Even if not specified on an R-Design? I know the R-Design Lux has standard cruise but not too sure about the standard R-Design

Just checked, you are right. Cruise Control is NOT standard in the UK on the R-Design models (only SE, SE Lux and R-Design Lux)!!!

Personally I think that's "cheap" as even the SE gets it!

Another prime example of bad business decision made by Volvo UK!

I don't mind because we got the cruise control for free :-)

Picked it up on Saturday and we love it. Can't fault it so far - looks good and drives well.

Too busy driving it to take photos at the moment (and its filthy after the rain) but I might put some up soon.

Ouch! Long wait. Have you asked your dealer for winter tyres?
