just slightly hijacking this thread about size - I've tried a 32Gb in my car (2010 model S80) and it won't work. Is anyone using one this size or larger? (I realise I could just have several 16Gb sticks, but its convenient to have everything on one and leave it plugged in.)

IIRC they only work formatted to FAT32, and Windows will by default format large sticks to NTFS. Worth checking that, in case it's that rather than size

Hi m8 I made same mistake trying to feed my xbox360 a 64gb usb stick which same as your problem it wouldnt take it.
I bought 2 of the sandisk cruzer 16gb blacks(to feed the two front usb sockets)and they were fine so I bought 2 more while they were on offer.
They are full stainless steel cased, ultra slim and light and very quick being 3.0 rated.
Hope this helps.

Yep thats right and also some 64gbs are now rated ex to handle extra speed (3.0)which some devices dont like (I have 64gb expansion card in my samsung note tablet which is essentialy a micro phonecard but can be slipped in a usb converter and used as such but my xbox doesnt like it and refuses to play it.
Getting off the thresd a bit but thought I would mention it.

Yeah - the manual says:
Quote:
The system supports mobile media compliant with USB 2.0 and the FAT32 file system and can handle 1000 folders with a maximum of 254 subfolders/files in every folder. The top level, which can handle up to 1000 subfolders/files, is an exception to this.
Windows won't give the option to format a large drive to FAT32, but you can download third party software to do it.
