My car was a pre registered, so had already been registered by the dealer.

I have emailed the dealer and will advise of the outcome.

I've just checked my v5 and both my towing capacities are blank. The most important thing is that it's on the manufacturers vehicle plate.

Sorry guys, I've completely forgotten about this issue.

Too busy at the moment, but a reminder is set in calendar to contact DVLA in late Jan/early Feb.

Just want to know if it's their system, or info provided by dealers, caused this issue.

Will update here.

Mine shows 750Kgs for both braked and unbraked, not going to worry about it the plate on the car is what determines the correct weight.

Just received my V5C back after switching to my private plate and noticed I have the same issue. Will be phoning the DVLA as I don't want any issues.

DVLA have advised that I need to contact Volvo as it is them who have made the mistake. They will have to provide proof of the towing capacity and I will need to send it and the V5C back with a covering letter. The DVLA will then update the record.

I've emailed Volvo Customer Service with a copy of the V5C and will wait for their reply.

That's interesting BdB, I have had an email from the dealer telling me it is DVLA that get the info from a database and advising me to contact them.

Do you have a name and /or contact No. you can let me have?

I've had a response from Volvo:-

Quote:
We can confirm that we have passed a copy of your email to our Product Department. Product will be producing a manufacturing letter confirming the correct details for your vehicle. This letter can then be sent to the DVLA along with your incorrect V5C for correction.
So, no real admission of an error on the part of either the dealer or Volvo but a bit of faffing for me to get it resolved.

No specific contacts I Feel Old I'm afraid. I spoke to a random welsh bloke at the DVLA who told me to contact Volvo.
