Not that I would for one moment advocate any form of social unrest, oh no, but;

Last Sunday I used the M1 from Leicester to Leeds and back, no 'smart' speeds were displaying on the gantry's. I set the cruise control to 78mph (sat nav was showing 76mph) this went on for hours without getting flashed by the numerous cameras I passed. I did see someone on the other side getting flashed once.

This might sound foolish to experiment with speed in this way but in my head I 'approved it' by using the reasonable +10% +2mph thing but if I did get flashed I wouldn't be particularly bothered about points and a fine at those speeds as I have a clean license and insurers don't get too sniffy if you only have one conviction on your licence, if it's a smallish one anyway.

Claim to fame was my once-only speeding fine back in 2000 when the police decided to park a plain white Transit on the M1 and clobber literally everyone for weeks on end, I got an SP50 for doing 96mph on the M1 driving for my work in an Escort Van (first of the Ford Endura TD's).

As for these new yellow vulture cameras the Wales online paper has proven this new camera to be false.
Seems they just replaced old with new and improved lighting. All other news papers seem to be reporting otherwise, and by the looks of it the same report.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Best put your head between your legs and grab your toes.

Yeah, it's France, but if it makes money it won't be long.

Well I've just been told at work that there's a ticket coming my way for doing 35 in a 30 zone in a truck at 5 in the morning, I could huff and puff about how unjust it is but the signs are clear enough, the camera is painted bright yellow, and we all know about the three cameras on that route. Hopefully as it's my first speeding ticket in 32 years of truck driving (plus 4 years in a car before that) I'll get the offer of a speed awareness course, best start practicing my contrite face

Being a professional driver with cpc will they offer it? Hope so for your sake. Those points hurt on the insurance.

Paul.
