I think the rain sensor wipe is excellent.

There is no fear of it starting up with a frozen screen.

By default, it is off when the ignition is activated, one has to arm it with the button on the stalk.
I drive all the time with the sensitivity, one click away, from the minumum delay.

Strange, mine work fine, although I don't have a seperate button - I find I very rarely have to adjust the sensitivity, and they vary just fine fron long delay to short and then onto speeds 1 & 2 - Only thing I miss is the automatic intermittent mode when the car is staionary, say at the lights.

Looks like I might need to try some new wiper blades. Unless the XC90 system is better perhaps?

My rain sensitive wipers work fine too. Once the sensitivity is set that's it.

Only time they get annoying is if say when passing a truck the spray sets them off in a frenzy, but that only happens occasionally.

Also need to ensure the area behind the central mirror where the beam is, is clear from grease etc

I don't see the point in them really though, the variable intermittant is more than adequate.

It works fantastically well on my MY2008 XC90. I rarely use the wipers on any other setting than 'auto' and find it works well in all sorts of weather.

I drove oveR the M62 from Grimsby to Manchester two weeks ago and the weather varied from sunshine and showers to sleet and snow over the moors and I never had to move the wiper stalk once.

It scores top marks with me!

I like my rain sensor wipers. You do need to set them every time you use the car though but I don't mind that as it gives perfect sensitivity every time.

Got some new wipers and mine now work much better. A bit pricey though...

I dread to think..... Last time I replaced a set on one of my prev cars - an 03 Galaxy, I made the mistake of asking Fraud to do it at service time.... £80 for the wipers and £20 labour to fit them! I had murder and they eventually refitted my old wipers FOC and deducted £100 from the bill - I got genuine Bosch Aeros from Costco for about £19 for the pair!

I think they were about £25. Not too bad I suppose considering the very similar ones for the Zafira for £42 from a Vauxhall dealer!!
