Question Refusing to start pointing down hill

Hoping someone might be able to point where to look.

For the first time since getting my car back I parked pointing downhill. After about 15 minutes I tried to restart the car and she would turn over but not fire up. Tried this a couple of times and still nothing.

There was a space down the road that was level so rolled down and then tried again. Started with just one turn of the key with no issues.

The car is a 1.9d and had 1/4 tank of diesel. Weather not best to be looking for the issue so will just have to make sure not on a hill next time.
The car drives up hills ok once started. So guessing it might be air getting into the system maybe. Fuel filer assembly changed about 2 years ago.

Well not only downhill as no start this morning.

Engine is turning over so suspect fuelling issue, maybe solenoid not working or stuck.

Just one thing after another at the moment, exhaust back box fell off last week and no local suppliers held stock took 5 days to get a new one.

Im going to offer up a suggestion with no knowledge behind it other than the fact that the v40 diesels suffered the same thing,

There might be a filter inside the fuel tank, clean it and then see how the car runs. Coukd also be that you have air in your lines, check the fuel lines for any signs of seepage.

Appart from that...try these suggestions

Thanks Anadinolin

I have checked the glowplugs and they have about 11v on when energized.

The only thing I found was the shutoff solenoid wire was loose, just hand tight so done it up properly. Pump filter pump needed only 1 and a little push before it was hard.

Started first turn of the key after that. Will have to wait see what hapens tomorrow.
