There is a G reg 240 GLT breaking near me, does anyone know if the roll bars from this will fit on my J reg 240 SE ?

Any other recommendations for parts to pilfer gratefully recieved.

Yes, they will fit. They should be 23 mm front and 21 mm rear if I recall correctly. Just do not forget to grab the two bushing clamps for the front bar, they are larger than the ones you got.

Other parts? Hmm... the GLT should have the large tach and small clock combination. Do not forget to also get the small plastic pin that seals the hole in the instrument window where the clock adjuster normally sits. The GLT should also have the Turbo models shocks and springs. The springs are 15 mm lower and somewhat stiffer than standard, if you want to bother with those. And the B230E motor in the 240s should have the A camshaft (as opposed to the 700 series cars, where the B230E got the more interesting V-cam). You got the M-cam, I think? An A could be considered as an upgrade, depending on what characteristics you want.

Erling.

The GLT front shocks are unique to GLT Turbos and 262 and are Bilstein monotubes which are long lasting and give better handling combined with the springs and anti-roll bar. I would swop complete struts over - don't forget to have the camber and tracking checked (4 wheel alignment). This also really affects handling characteristics considerably if not correct. It should be set to GLT spec.
The other things I would look at is definitely the wheels - I always run them on 205-60R15 tyres - also there is the nice leather interior as well!

if you find another i could do with the 23mm front bar (only if it measure 23mm), my GT supension replacement for my 244 is nearly complete haha

so far i've got
full poly bushes.
volvo rallycross hard R-sport shocks
21mm front/ 23mm rear bars (GT sent from the land of OZ)
upper and lower GT chassis braces
GT springs are on the way from the US (cali car rust free)
