Default 2010 xc60 hatch issue

Background info: My hatch uses a regular pneumatic lift strut/shock on the passenger and a hydraulic lift on the driver side.

I have a 2010 Volvo XC60. About a year ago I started having a problem with my tailgate/hatch system. When I would hit the trunk button the hatch would open but not stay open.

1. I have replaced the pneumatic strut on the passenger side but it didnt fix the issue. NOTE: I did purchase an OEM volvo factory replacement.

2. I then spent more money and replaced the hydraulic strut on the drivers side. It sill did not fix the issue.

3. Decided to pull the hydraulic pump, clean and replace fluid. Still, the hatch opens fully but does not stay open (slowly falls back down)

Am I missing something? Is the problem the actual hydraulic pump? Replacing the pump is >$600 I'm not sure what else to do. I'm willing to pay the money if it fixes the issue but dont want to needlessly spend the money.

Please help!
