I noticed that the engine oil filter on the ph3 205 engine is the same as my old ph2 2.4D - well to be precise the actual filter element is the same, but it looks like the cap seal is different.

What about VED5 2.0D 5 cylinder engines? I mean did Volvo change the oil capacity on these engines too or is it still 5,9L?

still 5.7 litres ..... its the same engine with a shorter stroke ...

Yes I know it's the same engine, so I have been misinformed all these years?

Your link is to a NZ website. Perhaps the news of the level being reduced to compensate for the possible leaking of diesel into the sump when a DPF regeneration aborts raising the oil level has yet to reach that far down under.
