An issue the OP will possibly have once the first 240 acquired is one is never enough.

For me, one was just fine for 28 years - until I viewed all of the fantastic 200 related projects on this site. Now I have a craving for a second project version. Do I want T5 power / retro early stylie looks with a turbo / a GLT spruced up for daily use / a minted 244 or 2 / a 240 sports edition. Or perhaps I need to do some original thinking and come up with another project. Or maybe I should concentrate on fixing up the existing car first!

Either way - first step is looking for a house with a big driveway

1. Fix up the current 244
2. All of the other suggestions above

Yep - concur this is the correct order to approach things. It has been effectively a rolling project since I have been driving it at 17 years old and I have only ever managed to get round to the basics of keeping it running/ legal/ looking vaguely presentable as circumstances seem to get in the way. 2013 will be the year for major improvement works I think

I have found that the more you own the more your learn - each one seems to have its own character. Ive had ones that had no issues that I just couldnt take to - and others that needed lots of tinkering that I loved. There are of course some jobs such as replacing bonnet hinges that I wouldnt care to repeat.....
