Default Qustion about RTI and TV

Could somebody please help me with following question? Is it possible to watch TV on front display when the car is equiped with TV receiver? When I select TV as source on radio, I can hear sound from TV channel, I can watch TV on displays in back, however fron display is always showing RTI navigation. Is there any way how to switch between RTI navigation and TV? The car is Volvo S80 2003 Executive with RTI, TV receiver and Rear Seat Entertainment.

Thank you,

Marcel

I think that on this car you can't view TV on the front screen (I guess something to do with needing to be able to send the signal to the rear screens when moving). You'll lose it soon as analog TV is turned off ...

On mine if its showing RTI when TV is selected and I want to watch tele, just hit the back button so the menu comes up and choose shut down. This then turns the sat nav off and woppee do the tele comes on.

I have tried it on mine. When I choose shutdown, screen goes back to dashboard. When I hit any other button (Enter, Back or any arrow), screen comes up from dashboard and shows RTI navigation again.

Thanks,

Marcel

The TV only works on the front screen, the rear screens are not connected to the front screen in any way , they have their own DVD Player . The TV only works when the vehicle is stationary , it goes off when you start to move ... If it doent behave like this there must be some kind of fault ..

I'm happy to be worng, but I believe that the Exec spec with the rear screens does NOT provide a TV feed to the front screen.

It is true that in a non exec spec car, the front 'opo up' screen will swicth between RTI and TV as described.

I suspect a careful read of the car handbook will describe what can be viewed.
