Batteries
Would like to know what offers feel is the best option car battery for B20 engines in 1800S /Amazon to be good for 6 years+.
My battery just managed to last 6 years, but the cranking speed in the last year has become iffy. Interested to read what spec others recommend and the perceived top manufacturer...... Thoughts please. |

OEM batteries seem to be able to last that time, but 6 years out of a typical consumer replacement lead-acid battery is asking a lot! Cheers |

Like most things, I think you get what you pay for. The more expensive Bosch batteries seem to last a long time in my cars. Some of those have 5 year guarantees. There are also many fancy batteries now from places like Demon Tweeks. Such as this one. Cough.

Buy varta or bosch (same battery, made by varta, bosch cost more for their sticker), blue top will see you through, silver top are tye next step up and have a 5 year warranty.
I always use www.tayna.co.uk they have best prices around for varta/bosch, fast delivery, nice to deal with. |

I spend far too much time looking at best prices of stuff! But here's a thing: I just changed the first battery on my XC70 which is 12 years old. My previous Volvo V70 battery lasted 14 years. My sister's XC90 is 11 years old with the original battery.
Ordinarily, I look at prices of non-genuine, then out of interest phone up my local Volvo place and guess what? Their batteries are cheaper than Euro-Car Parts....

Ditto, great service from Tayna. I managed to squeeze a 069 Enduroline Car Battery 85Ah from them into the amo back in December when the cold weather hit. It's black.

Don't know if Optima gel cell batteries are available on your side of the ocean, but they are the longest lasting battery I've found yet.

Maybe good but they are so ugly people make black boxes to hide them in.
