Posting a Bonnet!!!

Hello everyone,

Basically I need to send an 850 bonnet to Carlise and my trusty parcelforce say its too big.

Has anyone any experience of DHL etc aho would take a large item?

Any Suggestions would be fantastic.

Have a look at some of these They might be able to help

. Not used any of them myself but I'm currently trying one that will do a saturday collection.

Have tried parcel to go they only take smaller items.

Courier look like the only option.

I would imagine they would be too costly.

Courier would cost and arm and a leg! - be cheaper hiring a Taxi and getting them to take it!
Would be better off taking it there yourself!

I am considering slamming it on the trailer but its 5hrs from me!!!

I used to work for a freight company, try sending it as a pallet, cheaper than you may think. I can't remember the exact price, but for something round about that size and weight, think it may have been around £15.

Parcel company's my charge you on it being "out of gauge", oh and DHL are expensive, both my brother and father work for them.

We used to carry loads of bits people sold on ebay, and if correctly packaged, they are less likely to get damaged, as they are mechanicaly handled instead of some guy throwing it in the back of a van.

Night Freight will take it BUT you need to find someone with an account or see if you can open one. They are very reasonably priced and will handle over euro pallet size parcels.

Owen,

If you do go down the pallet route, make sure it is banded to the pallet, the local depo will do this, if need be ( or should, we did), and make sure all corners are protcted, then write "DO NO STACK" on the top of it.
