Wierd these came up as I was watching a german film (no not THAT sort of german film! lol) called 'The lives of others'. There is 264 limo in the film, I had never seen one before and assumed they were lhd only.

Hi chris seeing as only eight were brought into this country according to the seller then unless others were also imported then most others will indeed be left hand drive.

The true figure of righthand imports will never be known.Somebody already said his friend knew of only a couple that ever exhisted was wrong.

Still deeply regretting not buying the blue one.
Regards Brian.

Let's say £150 collection expenses, a rear window (let's be generous and say another £150), and a wash. And around £1500 profit in a week or two. I'm in the wrong line of business!

Frankly, I hope most of those offers are around the £2k mark, as that's all the seller deserves...

cheers

James

I think "The Lives of Others" 200 is one of the stange "264-with-a-4cyl engine" that were built for East European VIPs. (Some people were more equal than others)

All boils down to facilities or lack of.I was actually hovering over the bid button five minutes before it ended. And If they had been completely rust free I was willing to spend a lot more.

Lanky have you seen the 240 hearse? Now that really can carry long timbers. There was one for sale in australia a little while ago.Truly amazing as it had no fibre glass roof.It was like a stretched estate but with only two front doors The roof was steel and flat as in the estate.A single deck hearse.
The auto gear lever was in the dash about where the fresh air vent would be(right hand drive)and it had a bench seat driver and two passengers up front.

If I knew how I would take the piccies I had and put them on here.
I will try but don't hold your breath.
Regards Brian.

Some extra long estates to be going on with.
I have seen one of those extra long 240 estates. They are called the 245T, there was one at one of the VEC nationals some years ago. The owner loved it but said it chewed front tyres.

Didn't the "T" stand for Transfer, and they were built as airport shuttles?

I believe my friend has now collected his, but I'm still awaiting pictures.

cheers

James

yes, airporttransfers is right.

It was the volvo solution for the american stretched limos which also did airportruns.

Cann it be that volvo stretched before the amaricans did????
