Default Solution to cruddy internal tailgate handle?

The internal tailgate handle seems dreadful on these cars (v50). Mine is broken on one end (tabs).
Wreckers yards seem to have mostly broken ones too.

Is there a good fix/bodge for these?

Hi
Sure I fixed mine about 10 years ago with a cable tie. Been fine since then. Will check tomorrow and see if I can take a photo. Mind you thinking about it I don't actually use it, so that is why it may have lasted!!

Thanks! It's the inner tabs that are broken on mine that are supposed to locate into the actual door. Looks like a good fix though!

I used a bit of polymorph into the hole where the securing tab was broken, then whacked a self tapper in through the handle and into it.
