Personally I would take it for a drive.that way you get the car at the correct conditions for the re gen..I cleared mine this way in the xc7that I have . There are instructions on the forum of how to do it ,its basically a Italian tune up

quite the opposite actually a steady drive at 50 - 60 mph is all that is needed , high rpm does nothing to help except waste your precious fuel . the extra heat comes from fuel injected on the exhaust stroke not burning more with high rpm .. .

I think he meant "Italian Tune Up" as in "fix it by driving it" rather than "rev the nuts off it".

No mention of high revs in Outnumbered's post

Cheers

Regen successful. Reading 0.03g on vida. only issue now is a flipping fuel leak. I found the mass culprit which was the no4 injector pipe nut not tightened enough on the rail. Thsts not leakkng now, but still have a small drip, cant locate it for the life of me tho. Possibly just build up. Any ideas? Note, injector pots look wet, i don't have the o rings under the bracket on the injectors, just the copper seals ( new). Been told on seperate post that they are not required??

you do realise that you should change the fuel pipes you take off , they are to be used once only , Thats the most expensive part of the job . Its for safety , fires can be caused and any jet of fuel spraying out at thousands of psi will go right through your skin into your body .

Hi clan,

The rail pipes are new. All were tightened up. One was leaking adter a drive. This has now been tightened up. The rail was then dried up, it is still dry, but there is a really slow drip, and when i say slow. Its made a 50mm circle overnight.

Was the advice correct for the injectors not having the o ring and c clip being ok? I renewed the copper seals.

always torque the pipes up to the prescribed figure they deform to suit the nipple on the injector to make a perfect seal , that is why you can't use them again .. The injector clamps and bolts and copper ring have to be replaced every time , the spring clamps don't give as much clamping pressure the second time .

Is it coming from the leak off pipe, they go hard and brittle over time .
