Why that oil specifically?

Don't go through scandix, it's available on ebay for £14.50 and you only need two bottles.

Is GL-3+ the right spec for an M90 though?

Don't use EP90 in a FWD Gearbox ! That is meant for rear axles ( Extreme Pressure )

Would a gearbox oil change fix my gearbox?

It slips out of 5th gear, especially when slowing down or coming off a motorway to a roundabout, also, i struggle to change down to third from 5th or 4th, quite often it grinds. 2nd to 3rd is fine, but coming down the box, third grinds quite often but i was more wondering about it slipping out of 5th sometimes?

no oil won't fix that your best bet is a used gearbox , plenty around from 940's being scrapped ... -

FWD gearbox? Even though the Redblock M90 is for RWD applications. What about this?

sorry, was thinking 850 then from which the M90 internals come from .. EP oils are for hypoid final drives in rear axles with a propshaft .
This is the oil , looks more expensive there than from a dealer though

http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...n-75w/1030712/

Thats the going rate though for a top quality synthetic oil , I paid nearly that for Castrol syntax hypoid oil per litre .

I've been looking at the Comma one, or going for Castrol Syntrans 75W-85 which might be an alternative. Skandix put %20 atop their final price, a bit reluctant when I can get good oil in the UK.
