Nivomats
She has Nivomats, which at now 60k miles, are still perfect, and I do not have to adjust the headlght beams when towing. So I guess that that rules your supposition out - and it's BOTH edges which can only be underinflation (which it isn't) or over-enthusiastic cornering!

Sorry for posting in a really old thread - but I thought the maximum speed limit for towing anything was 60?
Cheers

It is on a motorway or dual carriageway, on all other roads it's 50 assuming you're talking about towing with a car. If you're talking about towing with an HGV/PCV then it's 40 and as far as i remember, vans come under the same rule as cars, as long as the maximum train weight (3.5T) isn't exceeded.

Probably not the best idea to deliberately do it, i've had something give some serious sway at 60 when i've been towing (it wasn't a caravan or "normal" trailer) and that was pretty nasty, still not sure how i didn't have a serious accident. Luck more than judgement i think.

I think that 1996+ 960, like the V90, uses OBD2 for the engine and gearbox control units, which can be read via an OBD2 adapter and "VOL-FCR" software on a Windows PC or laptop. I had no problem reading the fault codes for my V90, although the only fault that had been recorded was a bad contact in the gear lever switch that happened some years ago. |
