Default New Alarm Fob

Hello!

Had a new alarm fob programmed in today at the stealers (obviously).

All is ok, apart from one little niggle. Before, with the old fob (still have and is still working) when I locked the car, the hazards flashed once. When I opened it, the hazards flashed twice.

Now, the hazards flash twice on opening the car, but don't flash once when I lock the car.

Is this something that can be rectified? I mean, should I care? Or am I being pedantic?

Afterall, I did just fork out £193 to have this work carried out.

Any thoughts / suggestions please would be welcome.

Ahhh....the disappearing art of bonnet slamming....I think I'll just take it back to the main stealers....

OR, just as you have already been told, could try raising the bonnet a little and letting it slam shut . There is a microswitch linked to the alarm within the bonnet catch that sometimes sticks giving your symtoms. The alarm cannot set properly if it thinks a door or the bonnet is not fully closed and thus you do not get the single flash when locking the car

That said, alternatively you could take it back to the dealers and for starters they will probably take it into their expensive workshop, raise the bonnet a bit and.............................

Been there done that and YES it does work. Give it a try all you will lose is a bit of your hearing if it doesn't work.

If the lights do not flash when locking it is telling you that there is something wrong with a sensor , Bonnet , door , boot perhaps . Nothing to do with the key programming at all .

If the bonnet slam doesn't work by all means take it back.
