Default Headlamp System Malfunction

Evening all,

Got in my new to me V40 2013 earlier to go to work, managed to stall it (probably not relevent!) pulling over the kerb then had 'headlamp system malfunction' error come up, with an orange bendy light symbol on the dash. The lights (dipped, main beam, sidelights etc) all still work, and they appear to self level on start up still however only vertically rather than the 'swoosh' they normally do and the ABL doesn't seem to work. The error disappears and then pops back up as if for the first time whenever I go over noticeable bumps.. any ideas?

Cheers!

Just thought I’d update this for future reference... it appears to have fixed itself!

I can only think that when the engine cut out and I rolled back off the low kerb that the computer got confused when I restarted it over the position of a sensor. The error popped up less and less often and has disappeared now, headlights self level and bend as normal.

Happy days!
