Default manual to electric mirrors

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if it's possible to fit electric exterior mirrors to my 1986 Volvo 740gl which came with the manual mirrors, passenger side being a pain when driving at night. What were they thinking of. I have the driver's door switches and 2 electric mirrors off a 1990 scrapped 740. Did volvo make any allowances for fitting them. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Tommy.

You will have to take the door card off and see if the wiring is there, if not then I'm breaking a 1995 940 so I can get the wiring loom from that for you.

Not sure on the 740 but the 940 without the electric mirrors (and without rear window controls at the driver) has all the wiring for the mirror and the rear windows.

Just pop the control panel out, they are plugged into it, but just into the empty space where the switches and controls would be.

I couldn't find the rear wiring for electric windows in my 96 940. I have all the switches and motors to put elec windows in rear but there was no wiring to connect to

It's probably folded back and taped up somewhere in the loom Mark, maybe not even in the doors although that would be the most likely/obvious place.

I seem to remember when upgrading my 740 I had to replace the door looms. The main loom was wired for it, but the rear doors were not
