Am I in the right place?
Just a quick enquiry reference my S60d5se for sale. Am I doing something wrong in the way I am trying to sell it? As I understand it, this car cost in excess of 23k new and that was only 5 years and 70,000 miles ago. And with a full service history it must be well worth the asking price? Any feedback appreciated
Cheers Stu |

I recently spotted a 54 plate S60 D5se at a dealership in Birmingham with 36k for only £7000,think used cars are getting hit by the possible tax hikes hence the mega drop in prices.

I'm in the same boat Stu. The trade in value of mine according to Glasses guide is just over £7000 but I'm not getting any interest at £5995!! I really believe there is not much spare money out there and people aren't trading their cars atm. I suppose someone will buy it eventually unless you're prepared to drop it to silly money.... Good luck.

Yep I would check out autotrader to see what comparable cars are being advertised at. Ballpark asking figure for an 53 D5 with 70k miles seems to be around six to six and a half grand absolute tops - and that's asking price not what gets paid. A supermarket has a 2005 55 plate with 80k on the clock for six grand.
Personally I'm not surprised, in the current conditions nothing is certain, found out yesterday my own job might be being "offshored" soon and I know many people who are worried about the same sort of thing. There just aren't as many buyers out there as there were so it's either be very patient or drop the price through the floor. Cheers, John |

Owners never win with dealers... when you've got one no one wants one and when you want one no ones got one, ooh they are very rare and expensive...
