Newbie - Locking Question
Hi All
I have recently become the owner of a 2012 V40 SE NAV Liking the car a lot! I have come across an issue with a lock but have read through some posts and it seems to be a common issue with the actuators (I think) I am taking the car back under warranty but my question really concerns something else On the drivers door there is a toggle switch that shows the usual 'Lock' symbol in both a locked and unlocked state This has been unresponsive since I first got the car and I am assuming it's for the central locking Would someone be able to answer if there is a setting that would render the switch inoperative, something I have missed? If not I will get them to sort this out at the same time Thanks in advance Graham |

You've not missed anything. The toggle switch does just as you say, locks/unlocks central locking - no settings to stop it working. Another warranty problem to be mended I'm afraid.

Thanks Fantastic
Will get them to take a look With regard to the lock issue... I've just read through the warranty booklet and it states that I'm not covered for 'parts which fail as a result of commonly known design faults' As the lock is a common fault I guess I have a argument on my hands Wish me luck! |

grumward, there's not been any official Volvo recall on locks so I would argue that it's not a 'common fault' and not a 'design fault'. It's just that some break and stop working 😉
