Already down as having had problem managed to get 50% tell the dealer you want at least 60% to see what you get offered

My 20012 2l D4 has a mystery judder, Vida comes up with 2 MAF sensor faults and a intake temp sensor fault, I'm going to clean the EGR, but I doubt that will solve it, I'm thinking it may be an air leak somewhere.

Hi dear members.

My name is Konstantinos and i am looking to buy a Volvo XC60 D5 AWD model of 2013 with automatic gear transmission.

As i don't have any experience with this specific car, i would like to know specifically for this car, what the problems are (if any). The car i found has 78.000km and it is a model of 01.2013.

Any help it is welcome!

Regards
Konstantinos.

New to Volvo XC60 after 20 years with 4 Jeep grand cherokees
Bought 2012 XC60 45k 2 months ago and overall pleased with the car apart from a radiator leak.
Read other threads and this seems pretty common around this this model year.

Default 2012 XC60 has a leaking radiator and AWD fault

My 2012 XC60 also has a leaking radiator. I've had it just a year and have to top it up about 4 times (with 50/50 anti freeze of course). My Volvo dealer isn't concerned - "it'll need a replaced radiator some time" !!

I had what felt like a worn track rod end for a bit, and at just 27,000 miles I got " AWD Disabled -Service Required". The diagnosis from Volvo Dealer said was a "Rear Differential Pump" that needed replacing, £700 if not under warranty. Been great since then. Now done 34,000 miles.

Default XC60 bad?

I was considering replacing my XC70 with a newer XC60 (about 2014 D5 AWD model), but having looked at the issues in this forum, now having second thoughts. Do they really experience so many issues?

I understood Volvos were bombproof, and ran for 300k miles etc, but is this a myth?

Maybe I should consider a Toyota or Honda instead!!???

2014 XC60 D5 AWD Geartronic R Design Lux Nav with nearly every single option box ticked including the polestar upgrade. Owned since 1 year old @4500 miles, now on 20k.

Engine and gearbox wise, not missed a beat!

Keyless is a bit weird in cold weather and occassionally thinks I've taken the key out the car, but works fine once I move the key.

Numerous rattle issues especially from the 'premium' harmon kardon audio.

Biggest issue, rattly rear door which after 5-10 visits to the dealer and the whole interior of the car being stripped out, they had to replace the whole door as it was a door structure issue.

Dodgey tire pressure system that takes forever to recalibrate.

Whining air con compressor (Known volvo issue which they won't replace anymore I believe as it just comes back)

Nothing really too bad tbh!

that's what I thought, but is based on historic beliefs maybe from about 20 to 30 years ago when they were renowned for build quality.

things change and in my opinion ( and you only need to read this forum ) Volvo no longer merits this belief, so if I were you I would consider other marques, and compare known issues, etc before making a decision.

Default XC60 AWD gears issue

Hi, my xc60 of 80'000 miles currently suffers from the following:

1. difficulty selecting 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 6th gears, feels sort of dry. Cannot select 5th or reverse

I first noticed the problem two days ago so I took it to a garage in Carlisle that specialise in volvo, bmw & merc as it also needed an MOT. The initial synopsis is that my MOT failed on rear pads and discs and that the gears problem is not to do with the cables. They said that they will need to go deeper into the gear box to find what the issue is.

Spoke to them just now and they are consulting with Volvo to find out if there are other examples of this happening. So far they think that something may be jammed in the remote unit that translates the gear selection to the main box so it could mean a new remote unit. Any body else with this issue? Any way to find out what the part may cost approximately?

Thanks for reading.
