  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way
  • AOL Customers: Make sure you check the 'Remember me' check box otherwise the AOL system may log you out during the session. This is a known issue with AOL.
  • AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net users. Forum owners such as us are finding that AOL, Yahoo and Plus.net are blocking a lot of email generated from forums. This may mean your registration activation and other emails will not get to you, or they may appear in your spam mailbox

Default Volvo On Call: Failed to start preconditioning

Hi,

I'm a V90CC owner and am wondering if any members have experienced an issue with the Volvo On Call app and the Parking Climate feature. When I attempt to 'Start' the function from my mobile I receive the message 'Failed to start preconditioning'. Any pointers gratefully received.

Happens also to me. Sometimes I have to try several times to activate it.

Same here - I get the message every time now, and have done for a couple of months.

However, even though I get the message saying it has failed I often get to the car and find it has actually started preconditioning, as the fan is happily blowing away.

I have had no reason to visit my dealer for a few months now, so not done anything about it. But plan to say next time I am there.

Did the same to me this morning. First try didn't work at all, second attempt said it had failed but if you quit the VOC app and go back in, it says it is set up ready to go. Got in the car and it was lovely and warm when I needed to go.

I used to have to have this problem, where it would take multiple attempts to get pre-conditioning working.

I've then had my car's software updated in June (not specifically to address this problem). Since then, preconditioning has been working properly from the VoC app, at the first attempt.

I am having exactly the same problem, and with the current weather conditions it is getting very frustrating! I can start the car remotely, but the dreaded "Failed" message comes up every time I try and start preconditioning from the app.

I took it into the dealer today, and they have apparently installed a fix for it but still no joy. Any further advice from you lovely people would be much appreciated!

sorry no solution, have same problem. Software update 2 weeks ago was supposed to resolve ..

+1. Mine worked for two weeks after dealer visit when they worked on stopstart. Now it says protecting against low battery. Haven’t had this problem in two years of ownership but I am firmly in your camp now.

Mine used to work perfectly....until the dealer updated the software last month.
Now only remote start works, which is fine but I'd rather the preconditioning worked to be honest.
