Heated Mirrors
Hi All,
Had the V90 for 8 months now, I must have a god one with no issues.. Having had it thorough the summer it’s only now I have really noticed this issue until now. It’s really annoying that you can only turn the heated mirrors on with the rear windscreen which then goes off on the timer. Driving on the motorway this morning to work I had to constantly keep turning this back on so I could use the mirrors without them being covered in spray/rain. Have I missed something and there is another way to have these on all the time at this time of year? GBR1 |

You haven't missed anything and no, there's no other way of switching them on. In fairness, lots of cars are wired this way these days.
I've also found that they don't get very hot and it takes a while for water to evaporate off them unlike previous cars I've owned. The Merc's mirrors got so hot you could almost burn your fingers on them. _

whereas I was bemoaning the fact that in my Audi I have to remember to switch them on as well as the rear windscreen heater and have just realised they are still on and will come back on when I drive off and every time till i remember to switch them off again!

Try putting Rain X on them.

I have had cars where the come on with the rear screen demister (S90, Lexus IS), and where you have to switch them on/off separately (Honda Accord, Skoda Superb). Personally I prefer them to be linked with the rear screen demister/heater. Though each to their own.

Remembered to switch them off today - will probably forget to switch them on again next time I need them! My last car was an XC70. Before that an A6. Before that a Golf GTi. Further back an Eclass and an S60. If I stuck to one brand I might get used to how things worked! |
