Default Preconditioning time

Hi

Anyone know how the logic for the preconditioning timer works?

I understand that the time set on the timer is the time you want it ready for but it does seem to start a lot before then. For example this morning I set it for 11am and at 10:25 it had started. By 10:30 the snow on the windscreen and back window had already melted!

During the week (when it was slightly warmer) it seemed to be staring 25mins before the set time. Both seem a bit excessive to me?

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks
Dave

It aims to raise the cabin temperature to ~20c and calculates the start time based upon the external ambient temperature.

As I go out a different times, I don't use the timer function so can't comment on how long it usually takes. In current temperatures I tend to turn it on via the app about 10 or 15 mins beforehand and whilst that doesn't achieve 20c in the cabin it warms the engine enough to allow stop/start to function almost immediately.

I tend to do the same and switch it on 15 mins or so before. So far I have not had the same issues as last year with it not working because the battery charge was too low.
Looks like I may be testing out the car for the first time in snow tomorrow.

I also was looking forward to a decent snowfall tomorrow to see how the car behaves but the latest forecast has downgraded it.

On the other hand, where I'm going next weekend should have tons of the stuff. The forecast totals 219cm on top of what's already there Glad I decided to fly this time rather than drive.
