Default Can't reset my Airbag light

Just got back from my local garage after finding my airbag light come on which is odd since I haven't moved the driver's seat (which always sets the dam thing off) getting back to the point - the error that came back was airbag and control unit error when the lad went to do a reset the hand unit came back with an error and wont reset. airbag only popped up since we had -6 on Saturday night could this happen? it also came up with a warning that glow pugs where faulty which is wrong, she starts first time never had any problem starting her.

Any thoughts? is it due to the -6 temp or garage box of tricks?

The SRS modules do go faulty from time to time and when they do, you get the SRS-0001 Code. Get another one and it is just a simple plug and play. Just make sure you disconnect the battery before you install it

What is the other error? It may be that it is a loosened connection, or a faulty component. Only way to find out , is by putting a new good SRS module and reading/erasing the codes

It came up with "control unit error" and wouldn't reset and on his box of tricks that came up with an error saying something like poor coms or something, then the next try he got a the same errors again plus glow-plugs error which has never been a problem (he asked me if I had problems starting - which I have never had even this morning when it was hitting -6) - hope that helps?

thanks for your help Gatos...

Just had a msg from PFS you cant get new module unless you go to volvo and have them fit it... anyone got a SRS knocking around?

Glow plus have nothing to do with the SRS module really. there is a very small chance that you have a wiring issue though, under the radiator, which can affect random irrelevant things on the car. However, this would be the last resort. Best thing is to try a module. No need for a new one. Second hand in good working condition and no error codes will do fine. What is the part number on yours? It will be either 30613048A or 30617708A

I have a couple 30613048A in perfect working order

My airbag light came on for no apparent reason, to it to the local volvo garage and the passenger SIPS air bag was faulty, £50 for a second hand one, fitted and codes cleared. Job done.
