Default Feeling pretty good,

Had the V70 in the main dealers Clive Brook Huddersfield for new belts tensioners and autobox fluid, they were very competitive. While in i got the video wishlist £1146 quid, usual pads and discs, seat belt buckle bulbs coolant etc etc. With a few hours work and deleting there pessimistic assessment of front pads and the discs i finished tonight, approx 5 hours and £120 pounds on parts albeit the seat belt buckle was used.

How much is 'very competitive'? If they quoted £1,146 to change pads & bulbs etc, I'm intrigued to know how much they charged you to replace the belts & gearbox fluid.

£660 inc vat for all the belts and tensioners, water pump and gearbox.

The wish list was
Front and rear discs and pads 850 ish
Coolant flush
Marker light bulbs
Seatbelt buckle in the rear

The discs were all fine and front pads 50% the rear pads were very low so they were the only ones i swapped, got them for 34 quid from Volvo trade parts ebay shop while they were on offer.

Business model, go low and get you on the ramp then go for the jugular?

Unfortunately, that model works I think. Dealership prices can be & usually are extortionate. £660 inc VAT for the belts, tensioners etc is fairly reasonable for a Volvo workshop though. Find yourself a good independent specialist garage - They'll be cheaper, or DIY of course like you've done for the majority of what was required

Do that coolant flush yourself
