Default V50 radio does not work correctly

I have a V50 R design with a CD radio that broadcasts FM but not AM. The AM used to work but just stopped. Everything else on the radio / CD unit works perfectly.

If anyone knows how this can be repaired i would be grateful of any help.

Rgds

Don't know if this helps but my radio went silent on me! All I could get in any mode was a 'disk paused' message. I was told on here radio faults are a software floor and a dealer will update the whole cars computer solving a variety of niggles. However this is at least £50 ! I found removing the fuse for the radio and replacing it re set the damn thing and all works now.

Same problem vanishing AM problem here. Kicked myself for not checking the radio properly before I bought the motor. Keep trying AM though as my AM started working again and went on quite happily for 2 months - but gone again last week alas. Have read about this problem elsewhere so certainly not an isolated example.

Unfortunately it seems the whole unit has to be replaced, due to one part breaking down - at great cost of course... Or if you are handy with electronics it looks like you can try it yourself.
