Default V50 2.0d, stray connector ..can anyone identify?

Hi all, as viewed from front of car. Is this a redundant connector, or should it have a place?
Also been trying to locate dpf sensor, the usual area on battery box has nothing. Has position been changed on an '09 car....
Car suffering low power syndrome, trying small things before taking to Volvo specialist...
Thanks in advance, Brock

Hi Maarten, since found out my car is euro 4 and no dpf...hence no sensor...
But the loose small white, two pin connector in the picture was concerning me....any idea?
