Default Sluggish throttle response (3 engine fault codes)

Hello everyone.

My V50 (on 233,000 miles / 373,000 km) has developed an issue with the throttle response - it's especially bad from cold.

Applying the accelerator at rpms below 1800 rpm gives a very slugglish response from the engine. Above 1800 rpm, it's okay, not perfect but totally drive-able. MPG appears to be okay (actually managed 65 mpg @ 70 mph for 600 miles a few weeks ago ).

Using my fault code reader I have the following:
1335 - EGR position sensor faulty signal
1412 - EGR control faulty signal - I suspect is a child fault code of the position sensor fault.
0299 - Turbo control pressure too low: I'm hoping the Turbo fault code could be being triggered by EGR (presumably) being in some sort of open loop or default position

I'd like to investigate this myself, beside checking the EGR position sensor connector, are there any checks I can do myself to locate the fault?

Any pointers would be welcome.

Many thanks

Try blanking the egr and disconnect the light grey plug on it if the car has no dpf. See how it drives after? Mines a euro 3 without dpf and the egr has been blanked for 6yrs. 187k and still drives great!

I would also start there, I improved my mpg by about 4-5 and solved an intermittent poor starting issue with this mod.

have a look through my last post - see if there is anything there that is similar to your issue or may help.
