Default cam belt service

My V50 start stop 1.6L diesel has done 94K miles and is 8 years old. It's due for a service. I can't find any info on when the belt should be changed.

Any advice gladly received, having broken a cam belt on my S40 at 157K with the cam belt changed at 80K -(it was a petrol/ LPG conversion) I'm reluctant to do this again!

150,000 miles or 10 years which ever comes first ... Assuming it is the 1.6D not the D2 ...

Thanks for your reply. How do I check i've a 1.6D and not a D2 engine? I thought the 1.6L was a D2. Built March 2011.

That IS the D2 which is basically the same as the 1.6D but has 2 valves per cylinder instead of 4 .

The D2 went on in the new V40 but in that model they changed the interval to 87500 miles / 10 years .. I don't think that applied to earlier model ranges like yours , But worth checking with the dealer ... These engines were not prone to any cambelt or tensioner problems ..

Thanks a lot. I'll mention this later this month when I plan to get my car serviced.
