Fault codes P0013 & P0203
Further to my earlier post about me swapping my VVT solenoid due to rough running, my mechanic has confirmed the codes as P0013 (B Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit, Open Bank 1) and P0203 (Injector Circuit/Open Cylinder 3).
He doesn't know how to sort it without further investigation. Anyone any ideas? I guess this points to the VVT rather than the camshaft position sensor?

Hi Alpine
Why do you think this is to do with the VVT? Steve

I understood that the "Camshaft Position Actuator" is the VVT solenoid, is that right, or am I wrong?

Hi Alpine,
Yes, the actuator is the VVT. But I am wondering how and when the new code P0203 (Injector Circuit/Open Cylinder 3) has cropped up. You hadn't mentioned that before and so I would think it is either a new and completely different problem, or your mechanic has made a mistake when writing down the code. Obviously I don't know what code reader he has used, and whether he cleared old codes etc. I can't find it now, but I think one of your previous posts mentioned the cam position sensor but you are not mentioning that now. I do believe that a faulty cam position sensor will also throw a VVT code. So that is why I wondering if this new code can be trusted. Sorry I can't really help further, but those are my thoughts. Steve

thanks for your help Steve
He showed me the codes and I took a photo of his code reader screen. I think the cylinder 3 thing has thrown him, I didn't know about that before but it must only be running on 4 cylinders hence why its running rough I've read its is possible to trap and damage the wires to the VVT solenoid when fitting the cover that goes on top of the engine. I'll look at that tomorrow Thanks for all your help Steve, hopefully I will get to the bottom of it
