Default 340 rear door leaks -A cure?

I have found why I get a puddle under the rear carpets. It appears to come from a horizontal seam across the rear bottom of the door after water has got in there from past the "weather strips". I have affected a cure with a length of polythene 3in wide across the door bottom held in by clamping under the door trim bottom 2 clips. This deflects the water to the outside of the car.

Hope this helps , SteveT

A lot of cars have a sheet of polythene all over the inside of the door under the outer trim to stop this happening,it's just stuck on with a sellotape type glue.
The winders and and handle bits just poke through it.

My doors do have a pollythene sheet behind the trim but they do not stop water getting through the bottom transverse seam hence the extra 2 in hanging down below the trim. Not pretty but preferable to soggy carpets and a rusty floor.
