C70 Passenger Side Electrics

I can only assume that there is dirt or something causing the locking part to stick. This may never have been removed before. I don't know what else I can tell you, when I've done mine the plastic has slid upwards as a square (albeit 3 sided) and the flat head screwdriver has lifted from the top edge. Maybe some kind of lubrication first.

Further to my last the locking part lifts quite a bit more than 1/2". The link below may give you a better idea. Once raised the connector can be pulled from the door.

Thanks again, Fred - still trying here with no success as yet...

That second video shows the top part lifting less than in the C30 one - but I can still only prise up the nearest side about half an inch, whilst the other side refuses to budge at all...
....will next try taking the stay off to allow the door to open further, as per the C30 video, and see if improved access helps...

it could be the clip is seated badly to start with hence your issue I would try cleaning around it, maybe with a small brush as much as possible. Follow reverse procedure and try to 'reconnect' connector as snuggly as possible. return securing clip. Then try the removal procedure again, with the stay removed Starting with the stubborn inside edge as much as is possible.

Situation has deteriorated today - on going to go out this morning and unlocking the car, the passenger door mirror didn't move, which it has done up to now, even when the windows, locks, BLIS weren't functioning...
....plans for the day scuppered, as relocking and unlocking didn't make any difference - and as expected, nothing else was working on that side again...

This time, with the aid of a nail (head used to 'hook' and pull the far side of the locking top up), I was finally successfully able to get the connector off - all appeared OK, with no visible signs of damp or corrosion in the female side...
....sprayed the removed section with WD40, and into the door part as best as able - wiped off the excess with kitchen roll, and re-fitted the connector, at which point the door window moved down almost an inch...
....connector secured, locked and unlocked the car, mirror still didn't move - and windows, central locking and BLIS still not functioning, and I now also have a 'Urgent SRS Airbag Service' warning, presumably for the door airbag...

So I'm now stuck with a window partially open, and nothing working on the passenger side whatsoever (even the indicator/hazard light in the mirror)...
....looking like a trip to a dealer is inevitable?

leave car off for 15 mins, key out of ignition. disconnect car battery. leave for 15 mins, touch cars positive and negative terminals (WITH BATTERY disconnected!) to discharge capacitors. repeat process with door connector and use dialectice grease not wd40, as suggested. reconnect car battery.. this has a chance

Disconnecting the battery isn't as easy as it should be! It has a plastic cover only allowing access to the forward terminal - the rear one is under the cover which moves, but won't come out/off, as it's 'trapped' under a bar which goes right across the back of the engine bay...
....but if I do manage to disconnect both, when you say "touch" terminals, do you mean to each other, or separately against something else to 'ground' them?

After a quick Google to establish that the suggested method meant touching the two battery leads together, followed by a bit of a struggle (and some blood) getting the battery cover off to access and disconnect both terminals, I've tried the procedure outlined...
....unfortunately, with no luck; everything on the passenger side remains dead, and I still have the airbag warning. Incidentally, while the battery was disconnected, the passenger door would not open from outside, only from inside, despite the car having been unlocked before removing the power...

If you removed the door connector without first disconnecting the battery, then you will get a Airbag warning message, as there's a side curtain airbag in the top of the door. The SRS ECU will detect that it's no longer connected and set an error code. This will need to be cleared with VIDA, or suitable fault code reader (most cheap ones won't reset SRS codes).

The rest of the symptoms are likely to be down to the 'Passenger Door Module' ECU that's mounted on the window winder motor. It'll be worth checking the fuse for the passenger door window, and if that doesn't work take the door card off, and check the connections on window motor.
