I agree with you...but
If it was a boost leak the car would start and run..... I don't know much about vida....but the car must be running .... I even dc the maf to see if it could be a fault. The car cranks but it doesn't start |

VIDA works in key pos2 without engine running, right?
presume you still get lights on the dash etc, not some major complete electrical failure going on |

Connect a charger to keep the battery from discharging & use vida to read your codes etc as normal. Obviously you can't read anything available only with the engine running, but it should suffice for what you need? |

The boost leak was just an example. VIDA can do a lot more, what I'd be after in your case, is the error that was stored during your initial fault (the overtaking). That error is the most accurat description, that you can get about the specific situation your car was in at that point.
And as others already said, VIDA needs the electronic to work, not the engine running. But I have to admit, if you're new to VIDA it can be complicated. Maybe you should check with your next dealer, to get a proper diagnose.

I'm going to put my money on it being a popped boost hose, as suggested, or a ballooned/cracked intercooler. Being turbocharged it won't start if it's drawing in unmetered air.
As said VIDA will reveal all.

A popped or a cracked hose, or a leaking intercooler won't prevent a car from starting. It will not run properly but it will still start

Broken intercooler / boost pipes - car will start.
Diagnostics will work with ignition on - doesn't have to run. So you didnt fuel up? Are you sure your gauge is accurate? Mine is not (near empty at 1/4 tank reading) If its low on fuel fuel pump is noiser on start up. If i run it very low, i get the same message and no power and then cut out - it then wont start. Just a suggestion but id get some fuel in it just to rule that out. |

That's what I also though. Even with a split pipe the car would start and run
But the thing happen on a take over. The car was running for 15 min no problems I never had issues with the fuel gauge. Was because it was freezing? And it happen when I floor it on that take over. could it be the High pressure fuel pump? I will add more fuel of course its worth trying it but.... |

Intank transfer pump has died by the sounds of it, it is a saddle style fuel tank, get some fuel in it and if it eventualy starts you will have found your cause.
