Default non starter

right guys an girls lol bought a cheap xc70 facelift 56 plate d5 185bhp model manual gearbox,had car deliverd on trailor as battery was flat,(was sent a vid of it running by the way) today i went to change fuel filter as the problem origenally with car was when under load booting it it would kick into limp mode so as a quick cheap first try thing i went for fuel filter ,now here comes the naughty bit it has had red deisel in it,trying to empty tank now but the question is would red stop it starting i now somecars wont run if a contaminate is seen in fuel ,guess ecu does it's thing but is the xc70 the same,dont know how long it's been run on red but i defo wont be and anyone got a good ways to drain a fuel tank that too would help hopefully someone knows

As far as I know red diesel is regular diesel with dye. It should behave the same and not damage anything. But I'm not an expert mate. Have you read the fault codes?

only faults i'm getting relate to clock spring,got a new one to fit,and egr ,guess egr could be gummed up not looked into it too deeply yet had bad tooth ach hopefully dentist tomorrow will sort that lol then i can think straight again

Does the dash not say anything about soot filter being full? I had my S60 go into limp mode after getting that message. I fueled up with shell vpower and a dpf cleaner additive. I then drove the car at high speed in 5th gear for half an hour. By the time I came back home and restarting the car limp mode was gone as was soot filter full message.

BTW for toothache I'd recommend Swedish bitters mixture

nothing on dash other then fill washer fluid,last owner did say he had engine system service followed by engine system service urgent but i have not seen that they prob deleted codes,the j/d is helping at the mo lol

honey is the tits. also cant go too far wrong with a bottle of Jager

when I had serious tooth issues though the only thing that touched it was cocodomol, mine was prescription only but I was flying lol. hate tooth ache though wouldnt wish it on my worst enemy

well my dentist trip was a laugh not ,got a small abses under my root take this amoxicillin for five days,go to book appointment now gotta wait 2 months till they can do something ffs and thats private god help folk on nhs,p.s put new battery on my xc70 still no start,seems to be not spinning quite quick enough too,tomorrow tooth willing i'll change fuel filter and give it a wash down swirl flap appears to be not connected (snapped arm) and loose as a goose in head leaked oil from rocker cover and swirl opening so wash down and sort that out first too followed by a service and clean up as much as i can over the next few days/weeks lol
