Default S60 '05 SRS service urgent

Hi,

I have changed the hardwire kit on my dash cam today from one that was connected to fuse box to a different one (that connects to OBDII).
Just after replacing it, I got a message SRS service urgent on the dashboard.
I have to admit that I didn't disconnect the battery, but when I was connecting the first hardwire kit, I didn't do it either.

There is a fuse number 8 which is responsible for airbags, but also for ignition etc. so it's not the fuse.

What could actually happen and is it possible to get rid of it without going to Listers? I got a Launch Creader C4001 code reader, howeve it didn't pick up the code ,so I couldn't remove it myself.

Regards

During the work you didn't by any chance disconnect the panel with all your heater buttons etc when you were sorting out wiring?

That would throw up a srs fault

don't worry about it - normal if you disconnect the climate panel while key was on.

if you are passing norwich in future I can reset it for you. (only needs to be cleared for MOT)

After all the reading and typing today, disconnect the battery for 10 min and see if it clears your srs light.

That won’t work, it needs to be reset with vida or another high end diagnostic machine.

No, to be honest I didn't even get anywhere close to the climate control panel as my previous hardwire kit was connected to the fuse box on the side of the dash (driver's side). Perhaps I knocked something off when I was pulling the fuse out, who knows. I used the RTI display socket as it was powering up the dash cam only when the ignition was on, however I had issues with the cam itself, so I contacted the manufacturer and they offered me their kit for 0.1 pence just to see if it solves the problem. So far so good well...nearly good as I solved the issue with the dash cam, but I got SRS now...

I just took the power from the rear end of the cigarette lighter, I figured the camera only needs to be on when the car is on anyway ?

for that I did have to move my climate panel but by then I knew about the SRS thing because I'd already done it fitting the stereo. doh

Best to find someone local with VIDA to clear the error or buy it yourself.
