Thumbs up FREE - 2nd hand Nivomats

Set of Nivo shocks and associated springs. They were on my 855 until I changed for something more sporty. I won't lie, the car had done 150K when I removed them, although I don't know if they're the originals. For what it's worth I've not towed much, and the 2 previous owners were motorway based business types and never towed a thing. I've towed my trailer/car a couple of times and they still managed to bring the car level after a short drive.

Free to the first that wants. Collection preferred but I will post them at your cost obviously.

Ok, stupid question time, what are these things, and how do they fit? I gather from reading posts these are some kind of self leveler?? My 7 had self leveling shocks, with a gauge and air feed under the bonnet, you just adjusted them with a tyre gauge, is that what these are?

To be honest I know precious sod all about self levelling suspension, but I can tell you that Nivo's are self contained. The springs fitted with the Nivo shocks are much softer than standard springs. This combined with the act of loading the car down and the subsequent first few hundred yards of driving and bouncing around provides the necessary energy for the Nivo's to pump themselves back up to the correct height.

I think thats the jist of it

Hi

What part of the country are you in?

If you are anywhere near SE London I'd be pleased to take them.

I've sent you a PM with my contact details.

Thanks
Steve

Hiya,

I would think so but you'll also need to source some Nivomat compatible springs (only Volvo or H&R that I know of) and the Nivomats use different (taller) strut top mounts.

Following on from our conversation, can anyone reading this confirm if these Nivo shocks and springs will fit SteveSarre's '99 V70?

Question

Steve it doesn't look like anyone knows. Are you still interested? I've not exactly been innundated with interest so if you don't want them I think I'll be leaving them out for the scrap man.

Hi all,

As saturnuranus says, can anyone tell me if these Nivomats (from a 855) will fit my Jan 1999 10V 2.5 V70 Automatic?

Otherwise, I'll have to let them go.

... or if you think that it is really not worth fitting second hand shocks at all, then please say that too! (My current gas shocks are very recent).

.. or any comments on Nivomats vs standard shocks?

I'll also ask on the V70 section, to bring my info request to the attention of people who are not actually looking for parts, in case they can help.

Thanks
Steve
