Default Another Leak

It took me nearly 1 year to determine that the drip onto the drive wasn't oil from the cambelt oil seal, but power steering fluid leaking from the pulley seal and then getting sprayed everywhere by the aux belt. It was much worse under pressure.
I got a new power steering unit from ebay but that leaked at the case seal so 4 new seals fixed both pumps. Happy days. All clean again.

Not 2 days later, after I changed the gearbox torque rod, there is now a puddle on the other side. It is coming from between the engine and gearbox.

It doesn't leak when the engine is running, but only when I turn it off. I would have thought that if the core plug has popped it would leak oil more when the engine is running.
Therefore I think it is gearbox oil as it comes out when the pressure drops. I changed the spline shaft last year and was hoping that it was from there, but it is further forward than that.

The other concern I have is that I have a little smoke when I pull the dipstick and the engine is running. If I remove the oil cap it blows out quite hard. Do I have excessive pressure in the crankcase? And would this cause the core plug to pop out?

This is an old post but thought I would add my experience here:

My XC90 is a 2013 model but hey ho, my pump started leaking the same way; searched high and low for a replacement and new ones seemed very expensive until I found these guys who refurbish original units - Lion Automotive Power Steering Specialists:

I have bought one - excellent service, they arranged for pick up of my old one and their staff are very helpful. Cannot recommend then enough.
