Given:
BCM logged a signal missing from ECM TCM logged a signal missing from ECM ECM is not getting temperature readings sometimes I'd be inspecting and cleaning the ECM connectors, and inspecting and cleaning the temperature sensor connectors, and the injector connectors, and inspecting the ECM ground connections. Check also the engine loom for any fraying or abrasion. Look for any traces of corrosion anywhere on the ECM and the relevant connectors Suspect anything that is dirty, oily and/or corroded or broken.

Thanks for the response and advice.
I agree, I've had the 3 faults you mention before with no issues and ignored them I've now moved it to an independent volvo specialist. He will look at it this week, but very useful to have a 2nd opinion to corroborate whatever he finds. Tommy |

Pleased to say it is fixed.
Issue was electrical connector to injector on cylinder 3. He took the connectors apart, "tightened" them and covered them in conductive grease. Did this for all the injectors. All relevant errors disappeared apparently, I've driven it to Keswick and back approx 150miles tonight. No issues so haven't rescanned it with Vida. I asked him to take a look around and he said he's found the back box is cracked at the join with the incoming exhaust pipe and isn't weldable, the front shocks feel tired, one is weeping, but apart from that it is OK. He mentioned you can get aftermarket back boxes these days, anyone have any experience? And also should I be looking at sachs shocks for the front? |

Glad you got it sorted. I believe sachs are OEM and part no. 31200416 is for front shock. If you have vida you can search for parts when you select your vehicle profile it will give you parts for your vehicle.

Glad to see that my diagnosis based on your error codes was 100% correct, and that it was the simplest of the possible causes

Hi, re the aftermarket back box, I fitted one about two years ago and it appears fine. Mine is my03 so really not worth the investment for new.
I purchased the new one from eBay, shipped from.poland and came within 3 days. It was complete with suspension hangers. It included the central box too. My Indi had it fitted within an hour, so not a huge job. Looks fine and no difference in noise to my ears. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F401141110438 Hope this helps |
