Alarm Remote Control
The relatively new remote control for my car's alarm (1996 850 2.5 20v est)has stopped working. The old remote still works so I know the alarm is OK. New batteries in the faulty remote have not cured the problem. Is it possible that the remote needs re programming and if so how is it done? Do both remotes have to be re programmed at the same time?
Any guidance would be appreciated sag |

RE: Alarm Remote Control
To programme the remotes--Go inside car, or close all doors and leave drivers window open. 2) Switch ignition on and off FIVE times within TEN seconds, leaving it ON the fifth time. 3) press one of the two buttons on each remote, the first within 15 seconds and the rest no more than 10 seconds apart.4) The LED on the dash will light up briefly when each remote is accepted. A maximum of four remotes can be programmed this way. 5) Turn ign. off and check operation of alarm and locking.
This procedure applies to the VOLVO GAII alarm, I'm not sure about others. Good Luck :) Jim |
