Does anyone know what kind of signs you need to look, when you need to regas your air con?

Look forward to your replies.

Even allowing for archive deletion there are loads of threads on this forum about aircon and some fifty million threads in the US about the same subject!

Seriously, the main sign is lack of cooling; usually accompanied by lots of clicking behind the dash and under the bonnet as the system tries to do its job.

My tips for preventative maintenance are;
1. Use the system regularly throughout the year to keep the lubricating coolant running through all the hoses
2. Fit a pollen filter to stop muck from entering the guts of the system and thus clogging the works up.

One is free (apart from petrol) and the other will be about £40 initially, with £20-30 for each new filter, fitted twice a year.

Cheaper than a new evaporator, anyway.
