Washer jets blocked
Hi all,
Recently started developing an issue where my driver's side washer jet squirts a little bit at first, then nothing comes out. You can hear the pump working. I spent a while trying to sort it a week or so ago, and it seemed ok, but now the issue has returned. If you pull the rubber tube off the driver's washer jet nozzle from under the bonnet, and blow down the tube (towards the washer bottle) you can hear the water in the reservoir bubbling, then when you re-connect it it's ok for a few seconds, then it blocks again.. So, it sounds like a blockage somewhere. Is there a filter, or a valve, that maybe has some crap in it stopping the flow of water to the jets? thx. |

Yes there is a filter.
Under wheel arch cover on N/S pulled back or removed, pop pump out then retrieve small plastic mesh filter. Should be cover in a slimy black gunge. Wash it clean, flush out the bottle. Pop it back together. You may need to poke out jets with fine wire such as a strand cut from a wire brush. HTH Cheers Dave Last edited by 37 RUBY; Nov 6th, 2019 at 22:59. Reason: Poor grammar. |

My son had the same problem on his V70 T5 driver side washer, he replaced the plastic "t" junction under the bonnet and it now works fine.

I’m glad this popped up, I have the same issue. I’ve disconnected the tubing going to the washers and blasted them through with air compressor, but issue returned. Looks like I’ll be delving into the arches then.

Helped with one of mine on V70 (plate2008). If it doesn't help maybe blocked nozzles. Last edited by MariusM; Nov 13th, 2019 at 09:19. |

Many thanks guys - I will check the filter out first.
If that doesn't fix it, I will change the T piece |
