Default V70 Water sloshing in bulkhead

I'd searched for the solution to this with no avail. Here's my cure, hoping it might help someone in a future search.

The bulkhead in question is directly underneath the windscreen. It arches accross the bottom of the windscreen support.

Its accessed by removing the plastic wiper trim panel, remove wipers, prise up locking pins and remove the widgets, the panel will then come off.

Due to lack of access and angles etc its very hard to drill a hole directly into the bulkhead, I used a small Snap On drill and basically held the drill bit (Presto) sideways against the bulkhead and it eventually pierced it, I then used a pointed tool to establish a decent sized hole.

I have never been happier to see a puddle on my floor...

If you cannot find the source of the ingress, water will flow through the bulkhead void and out of the hole which being unprotected raw metal will rust. Can you not find how the water is getting in there?

Water in the bulkhead was a surprisingly common fault on earlier P3 V70s . I believe there is a Volvo technical bulletin of where to drill to drain the bulkhead. Once dry it will need treating for rust . It's also probably worth spraying interior of bulkhead section with waxoil using the injector spray to stop internal corrosion. Water ingress is through faulty
or failed windscreensn Selant / adhesive . Had this problem on my son's V70 a few years ago. It used to sound like water in the bilge of a boat sloshing around.

Dinatrol is far superior to wax oil in my opinion having used both. Given my experiences with wax oil and it's inability to stop or prevent rust I will never use it again.

I know it's been long time ago....but some pictures would be really useful ...so we all can drill a hole and get rid of water from bulkhead.
Just faced that problem with 2008 V70
Thanks in advance.
